Survey Finds Most Schools Are Taking Steps to Promote Online Safety

More than 90 percent of school districts report that they have installed a filtering solution and 78 percent report that teachers supervise students' Internet use. Those were the findings of a new survey released by the National School Boards Foundation. More than 800 technology decision makers of public school districts, including all of those with more than 25,000 students, responded to the survey, which was conduced between December 12, 2001 and February 12, 2002. More information on the findings related to online safety are available at www.nsbf.org/thereyet/guidelines.htm.
